Our History

Amy’s Place, was a well established diner opened in 1985 by Amy Betros. She left the diner in 1994 to open St. Luke's Mission of Mercy, but her recipes and name remained.  In 2021 Greg Kempf, owner of Amy’s Place, started Area54 in the store front next to the restaurant. Since then he is highly involved with Area54. In 2025 we partnered with Caffe Aroma on Elmwood Ave. creating Caffe at Amy’s. While independent, we work closely together to provide a space with great food, drink and entertainment. For the last 40 years one thing remains common; the space has been a safe haven for all people. It is our goal to continue providing for our community in ways that will honor Amy Betros and the memory of Amy’s Place.
